Scholastica Baths

The large baths were erected in the beginning of the 2nd century. In A. D. 400 the baths were extensively renovated by a Christian lady named Scholastikia. A large lavatory and a section identified through a recovered inscription as a brothel both belong to this huge complex.

Hadrian Temple

Although small in size, the temple of Hadrian is one of the most attractive edifices in Ephesus. The inscription over the architrave states that the temple was dedicated to the Emperor Hadrian (A.D. 117-138) by a man named P. Quintilius.

Trajan Fountain

It was built during the reign of Roman Emperor Trajan. A colossal statue of the Emperor Trajan, rising to the height of the two-stroyed edifice, stood in the middle section of the building where water flowed into the pool.
