  • 1300 Ottoman Sultanate founded
  • 1326 Ottomans under the Orhan Gazi captures Bursa which becomes the first capital of the Ottoman Empire
  • 1371 Ottomans capture Hadrianapolis (Edirne) and make it their second capital
  • 1453 Fall of Constantinople. Mehmet II captures the city after the siege of seven weeks
  • 1509 A severe earthquake called little "little doomsday" damages great number of monuments in Istanbul.
  • 1516 Sultan Selim captures Syria, Holly Lands and Egypt. He brings a great number of Holly Relics from Arabic Lands.
  • 1517 After his campaign to Holly Lands Egypt, Sultan Yavuz Selim brings Holy Relics of Muslim faith and receives the title of being Caliphs.
  • 1526 Suleyman the Magnificent adds Hungary to the Empire. His reign becomes the Golden Age of the Ottoman Empire
  • 1538 Preveze  Sea Battle establishes Ottoman stronghold in Mediterranean Sea.
  • 1550-1557 The construction of Suleymaniye Mosque in Istanbul
  • 1609-1616 The construction of Sultanahmet Mosque.
  • 1699 Ottomans starts losing land after the Karlowitch treaty.
  • 1837 A wooden bridge is built over the Golden Horn uniting two side of Bosphorus first time.
  • 1839 Ottoman Sultan agrees to limit his powers with a degree proclaimed in Gulhane Park. Basic right are given to citizens of Istanbul
  • 1856 The construction of Dolmabahce Palace, last residence of Ottoman Sultans.
  • 1856 Rights given to Muslim people are also granted to Non Muslim population.
  • 1865 The construction of Beylerbeyi Palace on the Asian side of Bosphorus.
  • 1871 The Construction of Ciragan Palace on the European Bank of Bosphorus.
  • 1872 Horse drawn trams starts operating in Istanbul
  • 1875 Tunel, one of the oldest underground systems goes into operation.
  • 1876 Constutional Monarchy proclaimed.
  • 1890 Railway system coming from Europe reaches t Istanbul.
  • 1914 Electric Powered trams replaces the horse drawn ones.
  • 1914-1918 Ottomans enter the WWW1 on the side of Germany and loose. Istanbul oocupied by Allied Powers.
  • 28 June 1919 After Treaty of Versaille, Ottoman Empire shared and divided by the Allied forces. The British, French, Italian, Greek forces occupies various parts of the Empire.
