Pantocrator Monastery ( Zeyrek Mosque)

Pantocrator Monastery was founded by Empress Irene, the wife of Emperor John II Commenos. The monastic complex which consisted of two churches, burial chapel of Commeni linking them, a hospital, a school of medisine. The south church and the north churches have domed curiciform plan. The coplex is attributed famous Byzantine architect Nicephorus. After the conquest of Istanbul, the complex was converted into mosque-medrese complex.
