CHURCHES OF THE REVELATION
DAY 1- ISTANBUL
Arrival at Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Meeting with your representative
and transfer to your Istanbul Hotel.
DAY 2- ISTANBUL
epart from the hotel in the morning to visit the spectacular Blue Mosque,
decorated with 17th century Iznik tiles. Then stroll around the historical
Hippodrome where chariot races were held. The tour will continue with the
masterpieces of the old city: St. Sophia Museum, an early Christian church
which was later converted into a museum; Topkapý Palace, the former home
of the legendary Ottoman sultans. At the end of the day, visit the
Undergroud Cistern, an amazing 6th century cistern with a forest of coloums.
DAY 3- ISTANBUL
eparture in the morning to visit the Egyptian Bazaar, served as spice market
since 1665. Morning cruise along the shores of the Bosphorus to enjoy the summer
palace of the Sultans, old Turkish houses and fortresses. In the afternoon,
visit the famous Grand Covered Bazaar.
eturn to the hotel for overnight.
DAY 4 - IZMIR
Morning flight to Izmir. Arrival to Izmir Airport and departure for Pergamum.
Visit the Acropolis of the Hellenistic city, the Altar of Zeus, the temples of
Trajan and Dionysus. In the afternoon visit the Asklepion, one of the earliest
healing centers of Asia Minor. Departure for Thyatira, where first Judaism was
practiced and later became Christian site. Return to Izmir for the night.
DAY 5 - PAMUKKALE
After breakfast depart for a full day excursion to Ephesus. Tour the ancient
city with its legendary marble streets, theater, Hadrian s Temple and the
Celsus Library. Then visit St. John's Basilica and the House of Virgin
Mary. Drive to Pamukkale visit the ruins of Hierapolis, once a Roman spa;
today, it is a Turkish one with access to the calcium laden waters. for visiting
and overnight.
DAY 6 - PAMUKKALE-IZMIR
n route, will visit Laodicea, ancient city mentioned in the book of Revelations.
In the afternoon, visit the site of Philadelphia (modern Alasehir), which was
one of the seven Christian communities in Asia-Minor. Then visit Sardis which
has one of the most ancient and largest synagogues of antiquity. The ruin of the
synagogue was restored to its former glory in recent times. Return to Izmir for
overnight.
DAY 7- USA
orning departure to Izmir Airport for your flight returning home.
