Women civil rights

There is complete equality of men and women in the Turkish Civil Law, which was adopted from the Swiss Civil Code in 1926. It allows the man to have only one wife gives to women equal rights with respect to inheritance and other spheres of Social life. This is a sharp contrast to Muslim Code, which permits man to have four wife. It recognizes the testimony of two women equal to testimony of one single man, and gives daughters only half of what a son might get in inheritance. Women in labor force 30% of the women older than 18 (including 10% of the urban women) participate in the Turkish labor force. 54% of the women are not covered by an insurance program. 31% of the adult workers are women. 46.5% in USA women in politics Turkish women received political rights at a quite early date in 1934, even before the Swiss, French, Greek, and Italian women. Turkey had many parliament members, ministers, governess until 1993 when Tansu Çiller, a professor of Economics became the prime minister of Turkey. In 1995 only %2.3 of the Turkish parliament was made of women, while %40 for the Swedish, Danish, Norwegian parliaments.

wage discriminatory

Even though employers are forbidden by law to discriminate with regard to sex, religion, race; in practice, wages received by women are 30 % less.
